Lay Speaking Ministries in the Paris-Sulphur Springs District

ADVANCED & BASIC LAY SPEAKING COURSES

Courses are typically offered once each spring and fall.

Dates & Location of the next event: TBA

We are called by God to fulfill a ministry, EVEN THOUGH IT MAY NOT BE FROM A PULPIT.  This study affirms "the call" and then prepares us to proclaim the Gospel through several avenues: preaching, witnessing, teaching, leadership and service.  It also encourages growing in personal faith and proclaiming the Gospel through a personal lifestyle.

There are two levels of lay speaking Local Church Lay Speaker and Certified Lay Speaker.

1) If you wish to become a Local Lay Speaker in your own church, you need to take the Basic Course and in order to keep your local status you will need to take a refresher course every three years.  The refresher course will be offered for the first time in April 2007 and each spring thereafter until further notice.

2) If you have taken the Basic Course and wish to become a Certified Lay Speaker, you will need to take an Advanced Course.  The advanced courses will allow you to do other things throughout the district.  You will then need to take an Advanced Course every three years to keep your Certification.

The Paris-Sulphur Springs District Lay Speaking Ministry usually conducts two training events each year.  Registration forms are mailed to the senior pastor at every church in the district and to current Lay Speakers.  For more information contact:
