Africa University - Transforming Lives Transforming Africa

"Africa University has been built (planted), and I am hoping and praying that we, the North Texas Conference, will be Apollos, by watering the plant; but always mindful that it is God who gives the growth."  Bishop Alfred L. Norris, Sr.

The four-word theme, "The Dream is Alive," is scripted in hedges and other places on the Africa University campus in Zimbabwe. The University Choir sings those words with gusto and in perfect harmony. They (the words) are recorded and inscribed in periodicals and official publications that are produced and distributed around the world by the University.

- excerpt from Bishop Alfred L. Norris, Sr.'s message, NT Reporter December 14, 2007

The Bishop's Africa University Initiative asks the North Texas Annual Conference to "make a witness" by contributing to the University's mission and stability. As one possible and practical method of doing this, Bishop Norris asks congregations to prayerfully consider participating in a Lenten Study and sacrificial offering for the University. A goal of $1,000,000 has been established which can be achieved if every church in the Conference participates during the Season of Lent, 2008.

Two of the most pressing needs at Africa University are for a student health clinic and an endowment for scholarships for students enrolled in the faculty of Health Sciences.
