Communications
The North Texas Conference Communications Ministry mission is
"To tell the age old story in ever new ways."
The goal of all facets of the ministry is to work to tell of God's love in action and to show local churches how to tell their own stories of "open hearts, open minds, and open doors."
The NTC Commission on Communications oversees the work of the Communications Ministry, which includes:
- Production of the weekly North Texas United Methodist Reporter, four pages of conference news in a full-color tabloid format.
- Development of the soon to be opened NTC media production center in the new Ministry Center.
- Production and distributions of live and archived webcasts of annual conference events and training programs.
- Production of specialized publications, including MY CHURCH, CONNECTION, and the New Visionaries "Insighter."
- Production and distribution of electronic news distribution to NTC clergy and communicators.
- Coordination and oversight of the NTC website, www.ntcumc.org. The new website is a content-managed site produced in cooperation with Brick River Technologies.
- Coordination and oversite of NTC media relations.
- Production and distribution of media resources, including DVD-format productions of special events.
- Coordination of the production and marketing of Igniting Ministry resources and partnering with the Equipping Disciples team for program planning and conference training.
- Coordination of other communication-related training for local churches.
- Coordination and oversight of the Robert L. (Bob) Robertson Awards for Local Church Excellence in Communication.
- Coordination of media support for the North Texas Annual Conference.
- Research and development of new NTC media strategies and products.
